Denim Doctors (Denim Repairs)

Let me start by saying I am a very easy to please customer. I really, really want to recommend Denim Doctors, and I still would, because the work is very specialised and Zip and his team are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about denim - but I cannot recommend them that enthusiastically. The work undertaken is solid. But. I paid $250 to have a pair of very important to me jeans repaired and hemmed and the time taken to complete the work was one whole month, when I was quoted roughly five days. Ordinarily I wouldnt care about the wait - genuinely - but it took three visits to the store to actually get the jeans in the repaired state that was initially discussed when I dropped them off.I was told via text message theyd be ready by date X, so I turn up. But theyre not ready. I return a week or so later. The jeans arent even on the premises. I come back a week or so later again after some back and forth over whether or not I wanted them shipped from DTLA to Pasadena which in Zips defense, he offered to pay for, (but I decided I didnt want them shipped - in case they got lost), so I go for a third time to pick them up. But guess what. The repairs still arent finished. So I had to wait for another repair to be completed before I could leave with the jeans.Furthermore, the cotton thread used in different places on the jeans are different colours - which is not noticeable from a distance - but it certainly is close up. This is not intentional - it was not done for colour matching. Its simply a mistake. Now, onto the positive. The darning is good and for the most part, the stitched repairs are solid.Unfortunately, due to the sloppy nature of this transaction, the whole thing has left me feeling kind of deflated about the jeans and I havent even worn them since I picked them up - something I was really looking forward to doing.Would I personally use Denim Doctors again? Honestly, probably not.

I went for the first time- got a silk dress, a $600 wool sweater, and a $700 wool jacket cleaned. First of all the sweater and jacket came back still w stains and smelling bad- they redid it for free but they completely shrunk both items. They literally are 1-2 sizes too small and I have to sell them now. These are designer pieces. Ruined. the people there are very nice but obviously I won't go back because they ruined my very expensive clothes. I didn't even bother complaining to them because what's done is done. The silk dress was ok, so maybe just don't give them anything wool. in a perfect world they owe me about $1,000 for this but obviously that's not happening.

A wide and eclectic selection of vintage jewelry, glasses and sunglasses, homewares, bric-a-brac and objets dart in a store where you can browse for hours and find something new on each shelf. AND not only that, storeowner Megan is someone who goes above-and-beyond for the Fairfax community. I dropped my card wallet on the street at the weekend by mistake, and Megan tracked me down and messaged me via IG to let me know - saving me much stress and trouble! Five stars for the great archive pieces in store and five stars plus for Megans bright and caring attitude. Thats what makes shopping at local stores so much better than big anonymous chainstores where everything is generic and the same. Take the time to stop by Vintage Treasures and you will most definitely find something unique. TY! HB

DONT GO HERE! They lose your stuff and the Owner is crazy and extremely rude and unprofessional. They lost three very expensive items and when questioned, the Owner got hysterical and started screaming. No attempt to replace or locate items. Do yourself a favor and go to a reliable dry cleaner. If theres a problem with any of your items, the Owners is terrible. I can not emphasize that enough!!!In response to the Owner: I believe you have the wrong customer with the details you listed but nevertheless, it comes three years too late after my review. All I know, is that when I had questions about missing items, you yelled and screamed. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. You dont treat customers this way and I would never recommend your cleaners after this type of treatment.

Took so long to post a review because I just wanted to let this issue go, but winter is coming and I am still angry about what happened a year ago! I came here because of the good reviews and my apartment building also referred me to this place. I took 4 jackets that had oil on them and the guy that was there was very nice, he told me that if they cant get out the stains, the bill was going to be free. Next time I came in, the owner was there and I told him about what the other guy told me and said that that wasnt true, so I said ok whatever, it happens. they took so long to clean the jackets but wasnt a problem because it was summer so I wasnt going to use them at that moment. Came to pick the 4 jackets and I was surprised that the bill was huge! Most of the oil came off of the jackets, but you can still see some stains.. Anyway winter came and I wore one of the jackets, as soon as I wore the jacket, my face was turning red! I had a huge burn in my face! I had to remove the jacket because it was burning so bad. I went to Cleaners La after what happened to talk to the owner and explain the situation, I ask him if he used chemicals to clean the jackets because my jacket burn my face, and he said no, that their products were all natural and he seem mad with an attitude and confused, repeating the same stuff all over again. He didnt resolved anything! didnt apologize, nothing!I am beyond mad because I cant use any of my jackets, every time I try them on I get burns, and my skin is not that sensitive. I feel like I got scammed and lied by the owner, of course they use chemicals if the products burn your face!Never going back again and I will recommend to save yourself time and money and go somewhere else.

Bubbles is downright the best dry cleaner I have ever used and I highly recommend them! I bring my dry cleaning and wash and fold there weekly and they always do a great job! Super fast too and they will put a rush on your order if you ask them. One time I was going out of town last minute and needed a super rush on my order and they had my wash and fold ready the SAME DAY for pick up. When I temporarily moved out of the Hollywood area a while back and they were nice enough to still deliver to my house free of charge. They do repairs and alterations also and helped me fix some of my best leather purses, shoes, dresses, and belts for a VERY reasonable price. Saved me a trip to Rodeo and a big hole in my wallet lol. Thank you so much Bubbles!

DO NOT BRING ANYTHING OF VALUE HERE. $76.00 isnt a fortune but that is what I am out due to this business shrinking an item that I brought in for dry cleaning. The owner completely turned on me after years of polite patronage of this business because his ego was bruised after I brought the garment back and complained that it was shrunk. What kind of owner cannot professionally handle a complaint? First, there was denial, then he said he would try to restore the item when I showed him how much it had shrunk ( I have the EXACT same item in a different color and they dry cleaned that one previously and no issue). After the item was worked on it still did not fit the same as when I brought it in and certainly fits completely different than the other one in the same size, style and color. I am not a textile expert but that is why I entrusted the business to take care of the item properly which did not happen. The owner even said to me I was going to give you the money for it but you wrote a bad review. WOW.... never in my life have I done business with someone so petty and unprofessional. I am the customer and I deserve to be treated with respect. The owner continued to mock me and his children intervened and tried to diffuse the situation because their father was too incensed to be professional over $76.00 + $16.00 that I paid to dry clean an item that has been shrunk. Lesson learned. They love their customers until something goes wrong- the owner wont be able to handle it and since he is calling all of the shots, you may get some sympathy from his kids but you wont get a resolution. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. If I had been treated with respect, there would not have been a bad review.

This was my first time at this cleaner. I had a suit, a wedding dress and an expensive hat cleaned... well the hat came out from dry cleaners missing a part, which I mentioned as soon as I saw it, and the dress was delayed by several days when I came to pick it up. I said: no worries! Ill come back in a few days, but pointed out that the hat was missing a ribbon which was the main part. The employee swore to me they were going to find it, so I left my items with them. Came back a few days later - still no ribbon. I was a little worried at that time but was told by an employee that they were going to get a manager involved and figure it out - or fix it. I was going to leave my items there but he convinced me to take them with me. He swore about their customer service. And I am an idiot. I paid for all of my items and picked them up. And gave them another item to clean. Well... today I came again (no call from the manager at this point) and asked about the ribbon. Guess what? No notes in the system about this at all!!! The other guy whose name is PJ Nazari pretended out notes in the computer.Poor girl who was working the front desk today (and who unfortunately had to deal with me blowing up) said the same thing: Im going to have a manger call you tomorrow. Needless to say, I told her I didnt believe her. I did not pick up my item. I will attempt to call every day. But I have a feeling this business is a a scam. Like other reviewers said: they buy their yelp reviews.

Lost my clothes and refused to refund properly. Worst dry clean I ever used.Im really tired of this so long story short. They lost my $190+ top. Lied to me in the first place and told me that they sent the piece to other location to clean. After two weeks they had to come back and tell me that they simply lost it. Its a precious gift from my bf and i only wore it twice. At first, i asked the owner to keep looking for it and he told me he can refund me. About another week after, i sent him the price tag along with picture, requesting a refund. He all sudden told me they have a policy (which non-exist on their website), so he only agreed to refund 10x of the cleaning price, which is like $80. And he gave me a $50 store credit because he wants to keep the business. Sir thats certainly not the way you would keep your business LMAOOOOOOOO. I then talked to my apartment and made sure that they wouldnt recommend this place in the future. Its a shame that they recommend such an inferior service in a luxury apartment in downtown LA. And not even mention that before this happens, they already had one time that they missed one of my dresses but later found it, and delayed my cleaning for like 2 wks and all that nonsense. I had enough patience with this place and finally they lost my clothes. And they want to keep the business LMAO this disgusts me.
