Mulberrys Dry Cleaners and Laundry
2295 Filbert St, San Francisco, CA 94123, United States
I, unfortunately, cannot recommend this dry cleaner to anyone. For the first two months that I used Mulberrys, their service was marginal. I would arrange for pick-up and drop off. The pick-up always went smoothly, but there was never any follow-through on the drop-off. Each time I would receive an email informing me that my dry cleaning was ready, I had to call to ensure that it would be delivered. On several occasions, the man on the phone did not know how to arrange a drop-off, and in these cases, had to pick up the cleaning in person. At least my clothes came back clean.Aside from the problems with the drop-off/pick-up service, the last time I utilized the service (before deciding to end my relationship with the cleaners), many of my items came back dirtier than I sent them. A polo destroyed with stains, a pair of $500 jeans laundered and shrunk beyond where I could wear them, a white shirt with stains untreated and yellowing, a pair of white jeans yellowed and stained, and a pair of pleated pants not pleated. I have to second what many people have written before me and say that the Mulberrys just doesnt care. There is not attention to detail, and for the amount of money they charge, ones clothes should be returned in perfect condition each and every time.I reached out to customer service on the first occasion about the pick-up and delivery service to which they disbursed a $20 credit. When I reached out about the damaged clothing, they simply didnt reply. If you have clothes that you love and in which you take pride, DO NOT take them to Mulberrys.

I used to love Mulberrys and had a very favorable opinion of them, until recently. Staff were always super friendly and helpful, and I was always alerted to my clothes being ready in a timely manner - usually ahead of schedule. I was even given several coupons for being a returning customer, which was a nice touch!Within the past 3 months, this place has seriously gone downhill. It seems as if there is a new owner/management, because the staff seems to all be new and have no idea whats going on. They havent alerted me to my past two items being ready and Ive had to call the store to find out where they were. But they never seem to answer the phone anymore, so I have to call repeatedly and leave voicemails to get to anyone.Due to Mulberrys being convienently located to my apartment, I still used them to clean and preserve my wedding dress. Big mistake. Ive been calling every few weeks for 2-3 months now trying to get an ETA for when my dress might be completed. Then, today, I just received an email saying that my item has been ready for over 30 days and that I will be charged a $10 storage fee! You could imagine my shock at seeing this! I called and called the store, left a voicemail, and called again until I finally got to someone. The manager assured me that it was an automated message and that I would not be charged, but still this situation has confirmed that I will not be using Mulberrys ever again.Really sad to see such a great business fail.Editing to add: I just went and picked up my wedding dress and when I walked in I found the staff arguing with a customer about the price of a dry cleaning item. Though the price was only ~$20, I was raised to believe that the customer is generally always right, and I was shocked that the staff wouldnt just comp this womans dry cleaning. She left without the item because they wouldnt let her take it without paying, and a manager would only be in on Friday - 3 days from now. Just solidifies my choice to not come back here.

Bay Cleaners

Destroyed several hundred dollars worth of clothing including some items that had only been worn once. Clothing absolutely reeked of PERC and toxic chemicals. Two cashmere sweaters had holes in them and a pair of silk pants was completely torn (massive hole you could fit your head through) in the rear. Two blouses were covered in stains. I paid nearly $100 for dry cleaning. As soon as I got home and inspected the clothes I called to let them know of the egregious error. The owner told me to bring everything back to the store. I did so and he actually held my clothes hostage while berating me and cursing at me and punching the counter. I legitimately thought he was going to physically assault me. I am a female. I finally just left because it was not worth dealing with this irrational and emotionally unstable man (the owner). My credit card company reversed the charges, but unfortunately the damage to the clothing was not recouped and items are no longer wearable. The owner appears to be mentally unstable and they will ruin your clothing and insult you if you speak up about it. Seriously the worst and most terrifying experience I have ever had.

Rinse - Laundry & Dry Cleaning Delivery
1000 Brannan St #100, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States
I was with Rinse for over 6 months. and besides the glass in my sheets and multiple missing items. Sheets, pillow cases, socks, towels, expensive clothes. Wool hiking socks that were $26 a piece. Im finally done with rinse!!! they dont care about you as a customer. They dont care about your things. Being missing and their customer service is abysmal as their service. . shame on you rinse. I was a good customer. I have 2 bags left but I guess you wont make that right either. I wont put myself in danger any longer from receiving glass in my items, which I documented to your company only to be told too bad. So sad nobody else has complained about this. as if you would have told me if they did. And the last customer service person I spoke to need some retraining because shes obtuse and combative, doesnt mind putting the Burden on the customer. I provided documentation of what I paid for my items. I dont need to send you a link. I sent a screenshot. Im not your secretary. And beware of all, the extra fees that they put on your account after youve paid them $5 service fee every time you have your bags picked up. This is a bad practice and they know it and they do it anyway, just to nickel and dime you to death

In & Out Cleaners In South San Francisco
106 McLellan Drive, South San Francisco, CA 94080, United States
I reached out to this cleaners in regards to doing alterations my wedding dress which I brought in, had it analyzed and received a quote. I was advised by Edmond that I can bring dress in 3 weeks prior to my wedding for the alterations which was to male the train shorter and place a slit in. They were able to do that and fitted me after the alterations but took the out the bustle. After the fitting I requested for the bustle to be placed back which Edmond said was not an issue. Later that day he calls to try and charge me more foe the dress that was already quoted just 10 days before my wedding! I ended up paying a bit more but I needed it done. Im assuming they forgot to call me the whole week for my wedding because I had to call and send a message continuously the day before I had to leave for my rehearsals. I picked up the dress and no bustle was put in and safety pins were left in my dress. The bottom had dirt on it and it was barely pressed. I could do nothing at this point and I was tripping over my dress my whole wedding.I reached out to Edmond for compensation but nothing of course. Just dont go here for any dress alterations for important occasions, lesson learned.

Sea Breeze Cleaners

DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Look at recent reviews. This place has gone way downhill. I had previously gone here for dry cleaning a handful of times without incident. My girlfriend stained her favorite white jacket with strawberry juice while on a work trip. I took in the jacket and pointed out the stains like usual. When I went in to pick up the piece a week later all of the stains were removed except for the biggest, most obvious one, which I thought was odd. When I asked about it, the proprietor said they would try again and to come back in 1-2 days. I came back two days later and he said the stain wasn't budging, but based on where he retrieved the garment from and the way he spoke, it didn't seem like he was being completely honest and I'm pretty sure they hadn't made another attempt to remove the stain (in addition to likley unintentionally skipping the big stain originally). I took the jacket home and did what I probably should have done first, try to remove the stain myself. Magically, a few minutes with a Tide To Go pen removed the stain that a professional drycleaner was unable to remove purportedly after multiple attempts. Bad enough that they failed to accomplish a simple stain challenge, but even worse that they lied about it instead of acting with professional respect and integrity. I had read and my own previous experience was that this dry cleaner was brusque/unfriendly/borderline rude, but honest and skilled so I guess he's now just rude, dishonest, and incapable.

Soap Box Cleaners
3526 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
I had already tried various local cleaners as well as Cleanly and Rinse - had to deal with okay and sometimes iffy service -- all while charging too much for me to feel I could justify the expense...Tried the local laundromat, which always seems to have a couple of broken machines and can sometimes be way too busy for me.....not to mention who has time or energy to do their own laundry if there is an alternative????Then I found out about Soap Box Cleaners -- I was so happy! They remember you when you walk in the door, and have always been able to accommodate requests I have made. Clothes come back clean and well folded, shirts on hangers look great - no complaints!!

I brought in, and prepaid for dry cleaning a blouse where the back was longer than the front. When I picked it up, one of the staff ran after me and asked if I had paid. I told her I prepaid and she looked at the receipt and then went inside. Then another ran out and said that they had mischarged me for a blouse instead of a dress. I showed her there was no way the blouse could be worn as a dress and she said it didnt matter how its worn, theres more fabric at the back so its charged as a dress. She insisted I pay $17 more. Had I known they were going to charge so much, I wouldnt have asked them to dry clean it in the first place! This is the whole point of pre-paying. At least my clothes werent damaged like in other reviews, but I cant go back to a place that isnt upfront about what theyre charging...

Perfect Dry Cleaning & Alterations
4966 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94112, United States
They get 1-Star for trying again. My wife recently went here to get her wedding dress cleaned, and quoted $80, which seems like a good dea if you're only looking for the job to be half done. Even worse, it appeared that the dress came back worse than when we dropped it off. They tried to pass it off as saying that the dress came to them like that. We had a good time at our wedding, but not to the point where we were running through dirty black water. (see pictures). We asked for them to try again, and they “tried”. Yeah no change. I suspect that they didn't even try again; probably left it on the hanger for a couple of weeks and called us back to put it up. It's at that point that we just decided to cut our loses and take it somewhere else — my house. I was able to wash out some of the marks with dish soap! (See Pictures). We'll just end up taking it to be completed at Ocean Dry Cleaners on Ocean. It's just on the other side of the BART. Honestly, it's not worth coming here. You should compare the reviews on Yelp between these two places. You'll see a world of difference.

Marina Cleaners
2875 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94109, United States
Very poor experience. Called and got a quote, was told 0.95/lb on wash and fold.Arrived at 3:30 the next day, the told me they couldnt do it same day, Was told it would be ready the next morning. I had separated my clothes cottons and synthetics, and asked them to do two loads, and to use our soap, a dye and perfume free soap. She said it would be $20, because you asked for separate loads. Whatever, was in a huge time crunch and didnt have many options, it was 16 lbs of clothes. They were done on time, and packeged in neat paper bundles. The pants came back with soap marks, from dried soap, not the soap we asked them to use and gave them. They smelled of perfumes from dryer sheets. The synthetics were dried on hot, and the collars on the LuLu lemon tee shirts were shriveled and essentially ruined.Ill never use them again.
