Comment: In a little market in Pasadena there’s a sandwich you should try. The old man here started making a singular sandwich in the 50’s and they not produce 400-900 a day! Three meats, provolone and olive oil on a crusty Italian roll. Clearly one of the best sandwich without a question in Pasadena if not LA. Go out of your way to enjoy this perfection.

Comment: Weve been driving a distance for years now to pick up Rosarios all star sandwiches when we are craving an authentic Euro style sandwich! Went to Roma Market again to pick some up for dinner and Rosario was outside bagging cherries and greeting folks coming and going. Best sandwich in town just the way he makes them! And the store is filled with so many (sooooooooo many) great Italian products its just a treat to wander the shop.

Comment: We love Roma Market! Those deli sandwiches wrapped in the pink paper have a chokehold on my fiancé, and I am always happy to take him for a quick lunch treat. High quality ingredients and great taste at an affordable price! We’ve gotten a couple things from the market at well, but our priority is always the sandwiches. The staff are kind and will get people checked out fast, even if the long looks like it would take awhile.

Comment: Nice Italian sandwich at affordable prices $6. The sandwich isnt your typical Italian youd get elsewhere as it does not include tomatoes and lettuce or any kind of sauce. What you do get is fresh bread and quality meats and cheese. Its quite good if you can appreciate the quality and you can always dress it up with sauce and vegetable at home if thats preferred.

Comment: A small Italian deli store, with lots of real Italian products. Besides the wide array of products, that are reasonably priced, considered where they come from and that they are authentic, define try one of their sandwiches. They have them at the till, freshly made and wrapped up ready to go at checkout. The ingredients are to die for, as an Italian (born and raised in Italy) I can testify they are the real Italian deli deal. Fresh mortadella, capocollo, Italian cheese and salami in a fresh bread (we call that sfilatino). And reasonably priced too.

Comment: Amazing local landmark, with great quality items to match. Came here today for the first time in over a decade since moving away from home. The last time I came here, I was served by the owner behind the deli counter, and when I was driving here, I thought it might be a bummer not seeing him again, but to my surprise, he has a seat front stage and center, of the store. It really made my day. Was not surprised in the least of the items I purchased, loved them all. My only advice is, if youre coming here solely for sandwiches, try and get there before early noon, as they run out of bread, but they do have pre-made sandwiches ready to go, that are delicious! Youll not regret coming here, ever.

Comment: Finally had The Sandwich everyone around us kept buzzing about. Its good, dont get me wrong, but amazing? Hardly. The meats are sublime, bread is on point, but it was missing a little something to make it special. They also have a veggie version of The Sandwich thats artichoke hearts and cheese. I didnt try it, but sounded interesting.The store was chill. Lots of cool imported items at imported prices. Deli meats are probably the one thing Id buy here that I wouldnt buy anywhere else. I do like supporting local businesses when I find cool spots like this, but I wouldnt go out of my way - even if its only a few blocks down the street.Overall, a good place for a truly grab and go bite if there isnt a huge line. If there is, youre in for a 15min wait if the line is still inside.

A lot of people buy these sandwiches so they usually run out by lunch time.The market has a great selection of Imported cookies, bread, pasta, oils canned goods and bottled items. It’s a masterclass in simplicity, using high quality ingredients, starting with crusty bread. The meats and cheeses are cut super thin and layered to perfection. Comment: As a grown-up, it’s so much fun going to Roma Market. After spending time in Italy and cooking there, I really appreciate their selection. They have a lot of pasta varieties. It’s a tiny spot, but they have a lot of goods from Italy. You can even get a Bialetti moka pot. It may look a little intimidating, but once you figure it out, watch your friend do it or watch a video online, you’ll be hugged and want to have that every morning instead. Each Tasini, little cup, is equivalent to about 2 cups of coffee. I like the Illy brand coffee. This was from Italy. I find that the ones that are packaged in Italy taste much better. The ones that they sell in the US, you can find them at the grocery stores or at specialty cooking stores and you can taste fertilizer. I’ve done a few taste tests and was able to get a friend to bring some back again. It’s definitely much better when it comes from there. It’s not inexpensive. They cut their meat, fresh and cheese, too. I even got some other frozen sauces and bottled waters. I’ve gotten fresh bags of walnuts and pistachio nuts from them. It’s always fun to see what they have in stock. As busy as they are, they surprisingly answer the phone every single time and answer questions. The ladies have been there forever and they are super nice.If you are in a hurry, do not go during the lunch rush as they have their ever so popular Italian sandwiches. They have it on fresh baked bread and their meats and cheeses are freshly sliced. They wrap them in pink butcher paper and the line goes out the door. A little Nonno stands by the door to regulate traffic coming in. You cannot customize the sandwich. It’s so yummy. But either go a little before lunch or after and maybe the lines will be better. Parking is kind of tight but we always find a spot.

I went in on Thursday and bought two sandwiches, some cookies and a focaccia. The sandwiches were SO GOOD I called my Calabrese mom to tell her and promised Id bring her back one. I ate the focaccia a few hours later and was blown away by how flavorful it was. I returned Friday and bought armfuls of sandwiches and focaccia to bring home to my family who all left impeccable reviews. There is no variety here, but they are convenient and filled with a tasty combination of Italian cold cuts and a slice of good cheese.When described as simple I really mean simple. Salami, Sopresseta, and Mortadella are what are offered. If there were some greens and maybe a nice tomato, I would certainly make this a 5-star sandwich. Of course, the present creation sits and travels very well.The rest of the market remains sparse, but they do carry some nice imported goodies. Don’t know anything about the alleged media hype but after reading recent negative (critical) reviews, everyone has different likes/dislikes and expectations.Yes, Rosario’s deli sandwiches are prepared daily (usually over 500 are made) non-stop until they run out of bread which is usually around 2:00pm and are definitely not stale. Yes, they are simple but are perfect just the way they are. There’s a reason they run out of them every si gel day. For all you bougies out there with elevated palate expectations, yeah go somewhere else to get your sub fix with ALL THE TRIMMINGS for three times the cost. We hit Roma’s at least once a week. “The sandwich” is fresh, simple and delish just as is!! They’re wrapped in pink paper and are stacked next to the cashier. We tried slicing it in half to save some for another meal, but we just ended up eating the whole sandwich in one sitting. If you like spice, I’d suggest enjoying some peppers on the side for some extra zing (although the sandwich is good as-is.The sandwiches are piled up by the cash register and are $5 plus tax. They are wrapped in pink wrappers so it’s easily distinguishable. They accept credit cards. Parking is available in the small lot, and when I went in the afternoon on a weekday, it was easy to nab a spot (I imagine it would be much more difficult during the lunch hour). Be mindful of the posted signs, as many of the lot spots are for the other businesses in the complex.

Comment: The simple deli stuffed baguett is great to take to simple events at the Rose Bowl or a Barnesdalle wine event. The Baggett does lack in the veg department but cant beat the price. Grab a nice delicious tomato and a jar of peperoncini, add them to the baguett and blast off to deli heaven.

Comment: In my experience the most authentic Italian Deli. Its small, but Ross, the long time proprietor brings a lot of his goods from Italy. Ah, the olives, the cheese, the cookies! Im not Italian, but I sure could be. They also stock fresh Italian style bread and rolls. Ross makes up a bunch of deli sandwiches in the morning. They sell out as fast as he can make them. Try one!

Well...I broke the spell and did it today....OMG....how dumb of me all this time not going in. The bread....I ate it as if I would eat bread in my own country....my grandpa was a bread artisan. Their bread you eat it like a dessert. So tasty, so good and fresh. Bravo....and I also purchased Mascarpone for New Years yule log Im making. Comment: Ok place. Bresaola isnt easy to find and they had it. They had a few other items that arent easy to find in SoCal so thats a plus.But but... The prices were quite higher than what you could find in Trader Joes or other stores for Italian-imported items.And I didnt enjoy to find out that the cheese I bought was moldy.Will not go back.

Comment: Only thing keeping this place from getting a 5 star, anit the food or products. Well maybe one of the food, aka there shining star, the sandwich, normally you cant beat it. But one time I went and got a sandwich the bread was hard and broke into many pieces, like it was 3 weeks old sitting out in the sun. I literally had meat and half a bottom bun for my sandwich. Its a shame because this is a awesome place. Maybe it was an off day. Hard 4 leaning towards a 3 out of 5

Pay $5 and change at the register... and have one of the most unique sandwich experiences in L.A.This is what my grandpa (straight from Sicily) would have for lunch. A very rare treat. Comment: A real Italian market in Pasadena. Fair prices, many items only available in specialty shops. Ask the older gentleman for help choosing from many varieties of items for sale -- there are like more than half a dozen Balsamic vinegars for instance. One of the less expensive Balsamics (18 years old, 500ml, about a pint and $20) was incredible. Delicious! Their sandwiches, $5, are very popular and worth the visit just for them.

So I walked up there one day and walked in and I think it was empty except for a woman at a register and an older man behind the deli counter. I was greeted by the woman and I replied Hi! Its made with some simple Italian cold cuts, some cheese and a drizzle of olive oil over this great crispy bread that compliment each other perfectly. I heard about this place from the Los Angeles Times Lunchtime with Jonathan Gold and Im sure glad I went.

Comment: Came here the other day and saw the fresh ravioli in the fridge. Man it was so fresh and amazing!! Huge selection of pastas and other itialan delights. Saw some amazing pastas to try. Also they have chocolate from florance company that I had on my recent trip. So now when ever I come here Ill be almost in Italy again.
