Comment: I took my niece here as a surprise for her birthday. Be prepared to wait; our wait was two hours long. We arrived about an hour before closing, and the line was capped just a few people behind us. Once inside, the staff were patient and attentive. They even gave my niece a few scoops of ice cream for her birthday.I highly recommend this place for cotton candy fanatics—the design selection is adorable!

Comment: This place was amazing. You will walk away with a sugar rush, but it is definitely worth it. The amount of details they put into their cotton candy creation blows my mind. If you ever get out to Anaheim, CA I recommend stopping in for a visit.Not only are the cotton candy creations out of this world, but their ice cream and shake options are as well. Comment: This is fun for adults too! My sister, brother and law in I came here after seeing this place on Instagram. It was well worth the drive out of LA. The wait was long but worth it, we got there around 1pm on a Saturday, waited about 15 min in line and then another 30-45 minutes after ordering (we just got one to share between the three of us which was PLENTY)The wait was worth it because you can watch the different characters being made which was so fun. And then they call your name so you get a front and center view. I got the lion because I love lions but they have lots of other characters. The amazing thing is - the cotton candy itself once you eat it is delicious! The different colors are also different flavors and its so light and fluffy. The cotton candy makers are true artists!

Comment: What a cool experience, especially for our kids. They absolutely loved seeing the different characters and the artistry. One cotton candy character was enough for 6 of us to enjoy (theyre big!). The different flavors used to make it were great. I also enjoyed their malt (strawberry ice cream malt with chocolate sauce).The wait was long (about an hour on a Sunday afternoon). They are very thoughtful about the experience though as they bring in groups so that it is not too crowded inside. Also when they are making your character they call you over and make sure the kiddos can watch. Also, if a family orders more than one then theyll make some of the other characters in the back. I thought this was good so that you get to watch at least one being made and they can keep things moving (since there is only one cotton candy station in the store front). So as long as you go in prepared for the wait then youll have a good experience.

Their artwork and creativity to make such neat cotton candy creations is superb! The store is smaller but very cute and super innovative! All of their cottoncandy candy characters and creations were extremely adorable and totally worth the price. Every single one that was made while I was there came out amazing looking! We only got cottoncandy but they sell ice cream, ice cream creations, and sodas also. Their ice cream concoctions looked amazing and very yummy. They had unique and interesting sodas. They even had a Snozzberry soda! I didnt try it this time but its a good excuse to stop by again. The whole place smelled delicious!!! Be prepared to wait but its definitely worth it. I will definitely be coming back!!!

Very courteous staff and the manager is awesome he handled a situation we’re they are closed and some lady demanded an order even though they had a sign and times of service posted he was calm and very professional the entire time even though the customer was very rude and demanding. Great overall experience we were the last customers so we had a clear view of picture ls for my family next experiences for them a keep sake memory. Awesome and unique shop.And ps some parents just let their kid do whatever they want and scream and just try to ruin the moment if you can bare it through by all means you have great patience but I think it’s not fair to the shop owner for getting bad reviews of kids who are neglected and not controlled.

Comment: The creativity and artistic skill needed to come up with and the crafting of these cotton candy sculptures is nothing short of amazing!! Truly.But that is about it..the taste itself of Cotton candy well is the same as everywhere else as to be expected here(in retrospect I should have not eaten it as it literally looks too good to eat)...the ice cream I had wasnt great also.As others have mentioned the wait time is long..I arrived at 4pm stood in line and was out the shop at 630pm. Having to stand in line for 2 hrs with two toddlers and multiple other toddlers is ......uh...not ideal.... definitely will be a one time affair for me until at least the novelty wears off.I would like to suggest getting a DeWalt drill for your employees....clamp the stick to the drill and let the drill do the spinning!!Upgrading your ventilation system as there is a fog of Cotton candy particles, could be some health risks to your employees. Also I can only guess all that sugar gets stuck to your air filters and then mold fungus bacteria have a field day with all the sugar

If you just wanted to buy ice cream you can go right in but if you wanted the cotton candy sculpture you must wait outside the door and wait to be called in by the restaruant staff.While you wait, you can choose from a written menu of the designs being offered that day. Once you are called in you go to the register, place your order and request a bag. Then wait for your name to be called so you can watch your cotton candy sculpture be personally created just for you. While you wait for your turn its great to enjoy some of the unique ice creams that they offer here.Your cotton candy sculpture is handed to you on a weighted stick holder. Take it over to a dehumidifier fan to blow dry a minute then bag it with the bag filled with cool dry air. They provide twist ties or zip ties to keep the bag closed. This preserves the freshness of the cotton candy. They have a policy: They will not bag creations that have left the store. the humid california air has an instant effect on the sculptures.This place is very popular so come prepared to wait.

Comment: This place is not just a small little dessert shop it’s a complete desert experience! They immediately welcome you when you come through the door they welcome you again once they call your name for them to shape your cotton candy character. It’s amazing to have such friendly customer service when they’re working so hard to create constant cotton candy characters and sweet treats and desserts. It will be crowded however the atmosphere and culture inside of the shop is very friendly people are not pushy they are just extremely excited to see all of the new cotton candy designs and snap cute selfies with their cotton candy characters. The shakes are amazing I highly recommend the strawberry banana milkshake that is not on the menu but taste like Banberry pie iykyk. They have a selection of ice cream I highly recommend the tropical sherbet it’s delicious. The cotton candy characters are extremely affordable $20 each for any character you decide to get. I got the Rick and Morty but I also got to watch a ton of other characters be made and I think the unicorn was definitely one of my favorites to watch.

Comment: I did not know when I got in line 15 minutes after this place opened that I would be waiting for 4 hours for COTTON CANDY.Heres why they still earn my 4 stars despite how much I hate waiting in long lines - every customer that walked out of that storefront was happy. We didnt get into the store until closing time, but the staff worked overtime to serve the remaining people in line despite it being ~3 hours long.Each cotton candy is a piece of art. If youre in Orange County and have absolutely nothing to do on a weekend, bring a few chairs and take your willpower to the test to try the most remarkable cotton candy you will ever have.

Our Luna was not only adorable, but quite delicious. Every layer of a different color was a different flavor. It made the hour long wait completely worth it! The staff were also friendly and they ensured you got your Instagram worthy videos and pictures. Polar playground also offered shakes, ice cream, ice cream bars and a variety of craft sodas which we didn’t partake in this time. Just more reason for a return visit!

Make sure you get here before they open because lines get long. Week days, lines are shorter. Weekends, I hear lines wrap around the building. Visiting from Houston, Texas.

Comment: With its hand sculpted cotton candy creations, Polar Playground is as much experience as it is flavour! We went to grab some cotton candy - and it was delicious! A few things to note:- Cotton candy creations take the lead, even if you dont want any, you still need to wait in line- The line wait is long. We arrived at 1:15pm on a weekend and didnt leave until 4:45pm. Some people brought chairs (I wish we had), and several went on food runs.- Once you get inside, be prepared to wait again. The wait inside can be 30+ minutes, depending on how large the orders are- There are two areas to take photos of the creations in doors, just be thoughtful to others who also want to take pictures- You can watch your cotton candy order being made in the front, be considerate, stop your kids from sticking their fingers under the safety glass or rubbing their hands all over the glass.The cotton candy was absolutely delicious, the staff super friendly, the location very clean. There is parking right outside, but it can get full. The place is handicap accessible. A great destination!

Comment: It was a 3 hour wait! When we got there we were around the corner, at the first picture frame on the wall. It took an hour to get to the corner. From the corner to the door it takes 2 hours. Then once you get inside it takes about an hour.You are allowed to go in for the bathroom and get water.They really are peices of art, so fun to watch being made. Was it worth it? If you have the time to waste, sure. Would I do it again, probably not.The owners of this place could double dip if they had coffee, drinks and sandwiches to sell while waiting. They were not doing the seperate ice cream line that day. There is a McDonalds across the street. Come prepared to wait. Someone was smart and brought a camping chair.Good luck!

Between multiple screaming toddlers and the exorbitant wait time I can’t imagine ever putting myself through that torture again.I got here 30 minutes before they opened. I didn’t get to order until 90 minutes later. Didn’t get my sculpture for another 30 minutes. 2 hour wait time is real.They honestly should consider an order ahead system where you just pick up the sculpture at a certain time.The sculpture itself was pretty good. But I wish they had someone dedicated to just helping people bag them. I managed to ruin the two I got because I had no one to help me. (And the employees were too busy)All in all if you get there an hour before they open it might not be so bad for a one time thing.

Comment: Fun experience. Big characters, lots of sugar. It can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to get up to order then an additional 15-30 for the cotton candy characters to be finished depending how big your party is. They are very big and fun to take photos with, will give you a sugar rush. Seems like the prices vary depending on the day/artists/demand, it was $20 per character but may be different. Note that cotton candy is meant to be enjoyed immediately otherwise it absorbs the humidity and becomes ruined if not enjoyed in the hour.

They have ice cream, floats, shakes, and other course, the adorable cotton candy characters. About 50 or so characters to choose from. They make them in front of you. I asked why since its never happened before. She said they do that for every group now. So just be aware before you wait in line for 2 hours. The inside is clean. Crowded. You have to go in knowing a few things:1.you will wait in line for a long time, depending on the day (we waited 2hrs). They will help you as long as you arrive to the line before closing time.2. its just cotton candy at the end. I suggest you dont look at the price and rather see it as an experience for the kids. It certainly is very fun and they make a great job on not allowing the inside to crowd and have space for you to take your IG stories and pics. And huge too!Fast forward to today when we brought my son. Surprisingly there was absolutely no line! There was only one other customer in the store when we entered around 6:45pm on a Thursday evening. Maybe its just the weekends that get busy to the point where people are lined up outside the store?My son wanted the evil minion so we ordered that for him. He also had the option of choosing one or two eyes for his character. My bf and I wanted to match the evil theme so we ordered Carnage to share. The character cotton Candy are $17 each. A bit pricey but honestly I think its worth it. They really are art. Very cute for social media posts too.We got to watch as they made our characters. Its so interesting seeing how they spin the sugar. My son had a blast watching as they put together his evil minion.Of course, it is cotton candy so be warned its very sweet! But we expected that. They offer free cups of water for customers to get themselves so that was nice to have. Well definitely be back to get more characters!

The only downside is once you receive your cotton candy character and step outside to head to your car, it instantaneously begins to melt. Mind you it was not a hot day nor gloomy or humid. Be sure to start nibbling fast before the melting begins especially inside your car. Also the shakes were delicious, overall fun experience. Keep in mind NOT a lot of places offer these amenities while waiting for over 30 min. Staff was really nice and very well organized. The cotton candy line gets long but if you don’t want that you can skip the line for shakes and other treats. My kids loved it, but right when I got to my car Baby Yodas santa hat fell off along with one ear. Comment: The Polar Playground experience was a blast for my kids. They loved seeing their candy floss creations come to life and almost felt bad eating such cute confections. We arrived 30 minutes before the store opened and we were the 6th party in line. We waited about 30 minutes after the store opened and were in and out in about 5-10 minutes. I would advise you to look at the menu before hand because there are so many options and flavors. If you wait until you are onsite to decide, you might be overwhelemed with options. Staff was quick and friendly.

Comment: The guys doing the cotton-candy masterpieces were great, it’s the execution of that terrible line and the time management that sucks. It was a 2hour wait, no exaggeration. My daughters loved their cute animal creations and I’ll probably bring my nieces and nephews but solely for the aesthetic of taking a cute picture lol in reality there’s no way you can eat all that sugar.

Comment: The novelty of this is fun. We got the character cotton candy and it was picture worthy. The kids waited over an hour and the cost was $33 for a minion and penguin. The flavors werent amazing and it gets wet and sticky fast and not as flossy - so minus star for flavor and the long wait. It was a fun experience to try once!

Comment: This place is so much fun..such creativity with the employees..its a real skill to form characters out of cotton candy..they also have really good shakes i tried the pbbj shake..so delicious..but if your not patient dont even try going here..u will have to wait over an hr or more..it takes awhile to create these creations & depends how big the groups are in front of u..but besides that this place is a blast..

Comment: We came here actually because we saw the place being shared on TikTok. The cotton candy characters were cute and intriguing, so I took my little cousins to get a cotton candy. Luckily, it was raining a bit that day, so not many customers lined up, even about two hours after opening.The staff were incredibly friendly, and the establishment followed COVID guidelines (albeit no temperature checking).As for the decor, it was simple, but also still very artsy. I saw on other social media sites that they used to have tables and chairs for sitting, but thats no longer a thing unfortunately, but they do have chairs on the outside for waiting.As for the food, the prices are a little bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for. The cotton candy characters are adorable in person. We got the Baby Yoda cotton candy, and the cotton candy was super soft and actually flavorful, unlike store bought or other places. Other than the cotton candy, we also got ice cream, which was pretty good, and I personally got a drink for myself - I forgot the name of it, but it is super chocolaty and sweet, which is perfect for chocolate lovers out there.I would definitely try to come again once the pandemic is over to just sit and hang out at the place and try some other things. Again, though known on social media for the cotton candy, they do have other items (mostly dessert) which is great for people who dont care too much for cotton candy.

Price varies on cotton candy.Yoda was $11+$2=$13.Kirby and unicorn was $11+$3=$14 each.I think the $11 was for the plain rainbow looking one (my son called it a rainbow poop 😂). (Please dont hold the prices i quoted against the store; this was the price we experienced- BUT if the store changes that, then they do!)We also got a rootbeer float, a shake, and an ice cream. All yummy! We will be coming again!!

Comment: First I’d like to comment on these people giving negative reviews bc they had to wait too long outside just to get in: don’t blame Polar for your self-inflicted aggravations or complaints. If anything, blame this pandemic and the way it has altered our everyday life. It’s easy for a patron to sit there and complain about something that was inconvenient to them, but do they even know how stressful it is for a business to not only abide by the regulations & restrictions that are mandatory to even simply be open to the public? Also, there’s a reason why there’s always a long line: Good things are worth waiting for.I took my nieces and nephews to Polar Playground when I was visiting bc their parents told me about how much the kids have been raving about this place and they have yet to take them there. So, I looked into it and read up on the reviews. I knew we needed to arrive early - which is exactly what we did. We got us a ticket and then I took them shopping for some toys/clothes for a short moment until it was our time to return and order our cotton candies/ice-creams/shakes - whatever the kids wanted. Let me tell you - I think I was more impressed with the skills these cotton candy-makers have than the kids were; and trust me, they all loved everything! I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything so unique and cool in my day with dessert like this. Keep it up Polar! Definitely recommend 11-STARS!

Comment: We were in line for approximately hour or so, right when we wete next 3 ppl were let in before us. Apparently, you need to show up early before opening time to get a ticketbthat serves as an appointment time. Those ppl have priority over you if you have no ticket. They claimed to have ran out of characters on cotton candy, but only those with tickets had the privilege to have a character made. I drove 1 hour to get there, dont think Im going again.

(Yes, I’m trying to warn you Tiktokers bc that’s what we do for each other😂)I came here 1 hour before they opened, and after waiting for 45 minutes I was told that I needed to wait another 2 hours to get my order taken.. They said I could leave and come back once the 2 hours were up, which is why I mentioned you have to be wanting to do something in Huntington Beach while you wait.. We left.The owners need to take a management or economics course, because they clearly do not understand what supply and demand is. I wrote some tips of ways you (the owner) could use to reduce the waiting line and waiting time.1. Raise the prices of cotton candy characters.2. Buy more cotton candy supplies, and spend more time preparing characters before opening in order to get them to the customers faster.3. Open earlier! This could help you avoid having all of your customers showing up at once (aka everyone and their moms showing up all at once when you open at 1).4. Open a new location to help alleviate demand from this location. They should have the new location specialize in making only cotton candy characters (aka no ice cream). This would help your workers focus on making as many cotton candy creations instead of constantly multitasking with ice cream too.Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I hope the owners read this. 🤞

Comment: After seeing this on tik tok decided to make the drive from San Diego, line wasnt that long but their is a catch, due to high demand and all the tik tok hipe you need to place the order then come back after a couple hours to pick up your cotton candy art due to high demand. The staff was very friendly and advised of this while being in line. The beach is only ten minutes away which is a good option while you wait. Once you come back they only take fuve minutes to make your option cotton candy art. Enjoy!

The only down side is that it takes anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes after you order (depending on the number of orders ahead of you). The ice cream is amazing as well...and it only takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get.

We may give it another try some other time but everyone with me got pretty agitated while 3 workers including the owner stood around flirting with the girls and their mother ahead of us! Their lighting made the small shop extremely warm and we didnt appreciate standing around for 20 minutes without even an acknowledgment that they will get to us shortly. One person manned the register while two literally stood around flirting and chatting while there was a line full of customers. Its understandable if we had to wait awhile if everyone was busy working but they werent! There wasnt any excuse for no one to start scooping ice cream for all the people waiting! The ice cream we all had was extremely creamy. The cotton candy creations we saw them making for others behind us were pretty impressive so we may give this place another chance if we are trying to treat a child. They didnt make a good impression on me to want to go back considering there are tons of really good ice cream places in Orange County.

Comment: I had the banana cream pie and it was sooooo good 🤤 I definitely recommend !! Who would have ever thought that coco powder and cotton candy would go so well 🤔💕my friend had the tiramisu milkshake and it was delicious as well. I would definitely come here for the tiramisu instead of going to starbucks for an iced coffee !
