Comment: Dr Horton is one of the kindest, talented, beautiful surgeons I have ever met in my entire life . I discovered her in 2019 with the intention of correcting my inverted nipples, I was only 19 at the time . Having this body function visually you know how insecure you are as a women and everyday showering changing and seeing them and how embarrassing it is to have them I thought there would never be a solution until I found her . I discovered after watching many procedures in India and doctors all around the world she was in the same city as me. I booked a consultation and when approaching the office being greeted by the two ladies at the front desk the pink chairs the offering of tea and water I knew I was at the right place. Dr Horton brought me to the back and took a look and what I thought was my life’s worst nightmare. she kindly calmed me in a way I’ve never experienced . She assured me that she was able to resolve it in a way that it would satisfy me . Since that day I’ve stopped crying and experiencing the horrible anxiety I was facing . My surgery was in October 11 2023 and I was very nervous . Her team is phenomenal there are no words to describe how well and comforting this women is . The pink robes, my bed was heated, I felt like a women for the first time in my life . The surgery itself was not nearly as painful as I expected and the aftercare was very minimal compared to what I thought it would be . Dr Horton and the team was very attentive making sure to always ask me of my needs before during and at every follow up appointment. She is better than every doctor than every surgeon and every medical provider that I have encountered . She allowed me to be annoying and particular gave me a direct contact to voice my issues and concerns and NEVER ONCE TOLD ME NO. Never once shut down my desires like the doctors I’ve previously visited some even being stationed at Kaiser. Even my doctors at Kaiser never told me there was a surgery to solve this. Following up after was very smooth I would come in be kindly greeted drink tea get food at the cafe the staff of the whole building now know me and I greet them when I enter I feel included in the process . This experience changed my life forever and I cannot thank her or her team enough for everything they have done for me. I feel more at home here than my actual house because they are accommodating and very responsive. 5/5 and I would come here in the future for other procedures because of how smooth this process was . Dr Horton is a very talented surgeons who deserve accolades in the work produced

Comment: Went here in 2016 for cosmetic surgery and regret it since . Not only did Dr Horton skimp over the procedure, she did a sloppy job and did not care about the results afterwards. In addition they used my pictures on their website without my permission. That alone should tell you about their morals. Definitely DONT recommend.

Comment: I dont even know where to begin. Dr. Horton is a magician! I have been wanting my implants out and reduction/lift for years. I struggled with an identity crisis, feeling like these breast where not me, did not fit me. Dr. Horton understood my wishes and desires, the outcome is even better than I imagined it. From the first consultation, I knew she was different from any other doctor I interviewed. She did not rush through the consultation; took her time to get to know me, my lifestyle, my family, who I am and what I want out of the procedure. From that moment on I knew Dr. Horton was my doctor. The procedure was flawless, and my recovery has been amazing. When I look in the mirror I finally resonate with my reflection, I finally feel like me. With tears in my eyes I write this, she truly changed my life!! Comment: I had been wanting a breast reduction for 5+ years but was also wildly picky because I didn’t want them to just look like they’d been cut off. I did my research and went to consultations with who I had narrowed down and believed to be the top 3 surgeons in CA that could give me the results I wanted. I knew almost immediately that Dr Horton is who I was going to choose. She explained everything start to finish, even pairing you with past patients similar to yourself that you can talk to before ever deciding to book it! Her before and after pictures speak for themselves, but it was so much more than that. Karen is not only super smart and knowledgeable in her profession but generally cares for your well being and what YOU want. The rest of her team was amazing too! Meilu and Mary guided me through the whole process. Nurse Emily explained everything and then some pre-opp, I never felt so confident going into a surgery in my life! I love these ladies and would recommend anyone and everyone go here for top notch care that looks amazing.

Comment: I chose Dr. Karen Horton for my procedure because after many consultations over years, with so many surgeons I just could never bring myself to go through with it as I did not have this innate trust from within just never felt right..Fast forward many years...I heard from various word of mouth clients/ stories of Karen Horton and how amazing she is, I decided to go check it out.What was most impressive was one of the stories that a patient shared who actually had a complication and insisted that I must see Dr. Horton due to how she handled every step of the complication. This story actually made me trust Karen even more, when we allow our bodies to go under such complex surgeries we need those surgeons who are not only great and amazing but what if something goes wrong who would we trust to get us out of it... This is more important to me.I have placed my trust in Karen and the staff she surrounds herself with from Emily RN, front desk staff, Mary, Pre-op and post-op RNs, Anesthesia Dr. Gordon etc...It takes a team but more importantly how the team performs under an amazing leader.My experience was the following I felt completely informed all the way through every aspect, I was given past patients to call and gain more references, It was very clear to me and my husband what we would expect day before, day of surgery, after and the subsequent weeks to follow.I am over a week post op and can already see, feel and tell how amazing the work Dr. Horton performed and although its a major surgery I feel confident that as time progresses I will be even more happier with results, outcomes and service.Thank you Dr. Horton and team!

Comment: I DEEPLY REGRET doing surgery with Dr Horton. She used the wrong materials during my surgery that led to permanent scar damage. This was not an isolated experience. She told me she repeated the same mistake across many surgeries over a full year and a half. Judging from my experience, choosing to be a patient of Dr Horton means risking your body.Dr Horton improperly used a jelly that was known to increase the likelihood of wounds not healing and increase scar sites. My scars are red, bleed everywhere years after surgery, and are significantly larger than they should have been had the surgery been done correctly.Aside from the obviously incredibly disappointing result, I have three concerns with Dr Horton’s character in handling this:1) She didn’t proactively contact me about this known issue or tell me about it during multiple visits I made to her office in the year following surgery. I found it myself once I was pregnant, and have had to live with terrible scarring without intervention for over a year now because I could not fix the issue while pregnant or breastfeeding. This has put me in an awful position during pregnancy. I could have fixed it if she had told me about it.2) When confronted with the damage she did, Dr Horton said, “well, maybe the baby won’t stick and we can fix it sooner”. I don’t need to say more about how disturbing this is.3) Dr. Horton didnt take responsibility for her mistake. At first she blamed the surgery center, but she was the surgeon who put the wrong thing into my body. Then in email and during multiple visits she said she would help fix the permanent damage she caused. She told me I just needed to wait to stop breastfeeding. Days after the window where I could sue her passed, she sent me a letter to renege on the commitment she made to help me.Dr Horton’s whole shtick is that she “increases confidence in women”. My experience was the opposite: she made me uncomfortable to show my skin because it is so deeply damaged with scarring. This has been an incredibly regrettable experience, and Dr Horton showed her true colors in a really dark time that she created in my life. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this woman only to feel tricked, wronged, and mistreated by her and her staff.Please don’t make the same mistake I did. If your experience is like mine, you’ll regret allowing Dr. Horton to touch your body.

Comment: Making major medical decisions can be utterly and completely overwhelming, terrifying, and challenging, but getting a breast reduction from Dr. Horton was the easiest decision I have ever made in my life. I was recommended by my fabulous esthetician, and the intial consultation was so incredibly validating. I thought I was being vain and selfish wanting this for myself but Dr. Horton made me feel heard and seen. I felt so cared for and my procedure was handled beautifully. I cried the first time I went to try on clothes post procedure; I finally felt like me. ♥️The entire office, from its beauty, to the office staff, makes you feel so truly comfortable. Its been almost two years since my reduction and Dr. Horton is going to do a few aesthetic revisions for me and I trust her so totally and completely.If youre reading this and curious, just do it, hun, go get a consultation! Comment: I believe in doing my research and I had read everything I could find about Dr Horton before calling to get a consultation appointment. All of the information, including ALL of the reviews, indicated that I would be in very good hands for my explant (removal of my breast implants) procedure. However, I also knew that an in person meet would help to fill in the other questions I had that maybe werent addressed via social media, internet searches and online reviews. I am not generally taken in by bells and whistles so I was prepared to discount the location (stunning views of the San Francisco skyline from the top of Webster St), the front office aesthetics (tastefully decorated waiting area with very comfortable seating) and the bright warmth of each examining/consultation room. But you cant fake caring, and that is what got me. From Niloo at the front desk, Emily as the pre-op nurse, Mary as patient coordinator and finally, Karen (Dr Horton) as the amazing person who formed this practice, I can honestly say that from each one of them I felt a genuine and heartfelt concern and caring...they were going to exceed my expectations. It was so palpably believable that I KNEW I was in very good hands.It has now been 8 days since my procedure and I am thrilled! The procedure (local anesthesia) was as described, the recovery was better than expected, the results make me so happy and everything Dr Horton counseled me on was true and accurate. Comment: My breasts were never normal. Even when I was a teenager, when breasts should be as perky as they are ever gonna be, my nipples pointed at the ground. I just tried to pretend it didnt bother me because my breasts were not gonna be improved by simply adding implants.One day I had had enough and I started researching surgeons online. Comment: I had an amazing experience with Dr. Horton. I had a bilateral breast reduction with liposuction. I first reached out to her when I was 17 and got a list of her previous patients in with similar procedures to contact and speak with. She also gave me her personal number prior to the surgery so I could ask any questions I had and send pictures or concerns afterwards. I had to reschedule multiple times due to an illness and resulting colectomy surgeries and they were very gracious and patient. Dr. Horton required approval from my colorectal surgeon to proceed with the reduction. Having had two (medically necessary) surgeries recently I was able to tell them what to expect in terms of anxiety and symptoms such as nausea and they prescribed all the meds I would need ahead of time. They also had no problem with my having an ostomy. Dr. Horton and all of the nurses were so lovely and friendly and its always fun to visit the clinic for follow up appts. I never felt pressured into any purchases or procedures and my vision was taken very much into consideration by Dr. Horton. I feel and look amazing!

She was so kind to accommodate my school schedule and do the intricate surgery over the holidays. The surgery was very successful.Dr. Horton was very open and informative before the surgery. I needed help to get back to a normal comfort level with my body. I did my research and chose Dr. Horton.Honest review? I waited for over an hour for my consult a year ago. She was running late. I dont like waiting, but good things come to those who are patient patients! She was late because she was spending time with another patient who needed a bit more of her time, and I appreciated this so much. She will give you the time to address every one of your concerns, no matter the time. She is truly devoted to every patient and it shows.As for the entire surgery, she and her staff were no less than amazing. Follow up for over a year--several check in visits to monitor healing and progress--she is there for the whole process and she is there with true dedication. Just had a final small fix surgery in her new on site surgery suite and will be back in 3 months for after pics.Totally thrilled with the results and Dr. Hortons skills as a surgeon and her staff. All stellar. All on point and all patient focused. Grateful.

Comment: I am writing this review to let others know my experience with Dr. Horton. In 2021, I had liposuction of the chin and lower abdomen. I woke up and my lower lip was dropping and numb, Dr.Horton assured me that this would only last a few weeks well my lip is still dropping and numb and it has been many months. My smile is crooked, and this has left me very insecure about talking with others and taking any pictures. My second issue is the placement of the “incisions” for the chin liposuction she put them on my cheeks in an obvious location. The incisions have left a divot in my cheek and a very visible scar that will need laser treatment. While I am not a doctor if you were to google placement of incisions for chin liposuction it never references incisions to be placed on the cheeks. The incisions are to be placed behind the ear and under the chin. I wish I would have never had any procedures done by Dr.Horton as this has cause me much stress and embarrassment due to how my face looks. I hope those who are looking to get plastic surgery really do their homework and pick a well-qualified doctor that will give them their best results.

Comment: I truly can’t say enough incredible things about Dr. Horton. I recently underwent a breast reduction surgery with her and to say it changed my life would be an understatement. I feel better and more confident, my clothes fit better, working out is easier, my back doesn’t hurt as much. It’s hard to put into words the impact this surgery and Dr. Horton especially had on my life. Dr. Horton is so kind, compassionate, and easy to work with - as is her entire staff. I had a lot of anxiety going into the surgery, and Dr. Horton listened to all my concerns and addressed each and every one. She is honest and doesn’t sugar coat the difficult aspects of the surgery. After the surgery, Dr. Horton made herself available almost 24/7, providing me (and all her patients) with her cell phone number so I could text her directly any time questions came up. There were numerous times I took her up on that offer as my scars healed post-surgery, and I sent her photos along the way to make sure she felt like things were progressing as expected. It’s five months post-op for me now and Dr. Horton continues to show care, compassion, and genuine interest in making sure I’m happy with the results of the surgery. I had been contemplating getting this surgery done for at least six or seven years before I met Dr. Horton, and not one person made me feel nearly as comfortable as she did. Comment: EPIC Surgeon and Team!Having a history of family breast cancer for many years, I’ve had my share and experiences with doctors and surgeons. Six surgeries and 4 surgeons later, I was exhausted, ready to give up and accept the botched results following a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. Faith have it, I was referred from a friend of a friend to Dr. Horton after moving to the Bay Area. From the minute I met Dr. Karen Horton, I immediately felt the connection. Her knowledge as a surgeon really was impressive and her compassion was heartwarming. She has helped many hundreds of women feel beautiful and her portfolio and gallery showcase a glimpse of her talent. Lucky for me, I chose Dr. Karen Horton for my breast reconstruction DIEP Flap procedure journey. WoW! Just WoW! I could write a book, but I’ll try and summarize this. . . Dr. Horton is blessed with “Golden Hands”. Preop, we met several times, she strategically put a plan in place, post op she visited every day in the hospital making sure I had everything I needed and answered any questions, we communicated via text messages and phone calls (over the holidays at that) and she made sure I felt supported every step, every day & every minute. Partner and mentor, Microsurgeon Dr. Rudolf Buntic assisted with the DIEP Flap procedure. He too is a superior surgeon with great off menu smoothie recommendations during my hospital stay. 😊 In my opinion, these two surgeons as a team are truly the top elite list of surgeons for breast reconstruction in the country. I literally hit the lotto with the Horton team, not limited to, Nurse Mari for pre-op, post op care, taking hours to make sure I was well informed. Office Director, Mary Pasache ensured all the administrative work, scheduling, hospital admin, post care, insurance protocols were seamless and never had one issue or discrepancy. Front desk team always answer the phone with a direct number which is huge these days. Receptionist Niloo, always a breath of fresh air, welcoming, familiar your case, offering water, tea, cookies while in waiting and seeing me off to my favorite Gaga tunes making me feel like a million $$ on my worst days. It’s been a two-year journey and one of the most impactful relationship of my life. I am forever grateful. If you have a vision and want to make it a reality, I highly recommend you see Dr. Horton.

Comment: Review by a physician: I had a wonderful experience with Dr Horton and her staff. I had a mastectomy and reconstruction due to breast cancer. I wish I had known about Dr Horton then! My reconstruction was terribly done, disfiguring and uncomfortable. I was getting numbness in my fingers. None of the plastic surgeons in my area felt competent to repair it, so I lived with it for far too long.I found Dr Horton, and she “gets it.” I actually cried at my first visit because she told me what was wrong without me even having to tell her. She understands the aesthetics and the function. Not only that, but she has the surgical skill to repair it.The front office is great with appointments and check-in. Mary helps you with prices, payments, and figuring out surgery schedules. Mari did an amazing job with pre-op teaching so that I knew what to expect. Comment: If I could give Dr. Karen Horton 100 stars I would. I recently got liposuction to the neck and wasnt sure what to expect. The communication her team has with their patients is amazing, and the kindness in the office is so enlightening. When I was getting the procedure done, the nurse held my hand and calmed me down so much. Her and the Doctor were nothing but kind, patient, and understanding when it came to me getting nervous or asking questions. I am very nervous about needles and the idea of surgery definitely makes me anxious, but with Dr. Horton, and her nurse, my stress immediately left the room. Even when sitting in the waiting room before surgery and overhearing the receptionists answering the phone, it was so nice to listen to them having real conversations and laughing. A good reminder that it costs nothing to be nice! Besides all of this, I wouldnt recommend a surgeon higher than doctor Horton and her team.

I had 2 gigantic babies via C-section, that turned my stomach into a very sad place. I work out, I eat well, but no matter what I did there it was. The crumpled-up skin and shelf I knew as my body. I hid it well. REAL well. Nobody knew, but I was dying inside. Finally, in Jan I scheduled my surgery. Dr. Horton was first on my list. Why? Because she gets it. She is a mom, a businesswoman and a person that I knew when I spoke of my struggles, she got it. We spent hours chatting about expectations, what was going to happen and the recovery.June 20th I went in. 6 am I arrived... checked in, get in a robe, lay down, IV in, pass out - wake up 4.5 hours later.. to a new BOD… that’s when the FUN STARTED.Did it hurt? Not at first. I stayed overnight and was pretty drugged up the first 48 hours. After about 72 hours you start coming back to life and it feels a little weird. You can’t stand up straight and things like moving are a challenge. I was lucky enough to have my mother here to take care of me for a week. Mostly the first 10 days I slept, and rested. Pain scale overall harder than a C-section, but not something you can’t handle. It is about 10 days of difficult then just sore.Week 2-3 were healing time lots of naps and resting. By week 4 you round the corner and now 6 weeks out I feel like a million bucks.The feeling of difference is immediate. The results are exactly as Dr. Horton described. She told me what would hurt where and how long this would take to heal etc.Dr. Horton as a woman is amazing. As a surgeon she is brilliant. I went to sleep with her holding my hand, I woke up with her smiling at me. I went to sleep night one with her coming to visit and when I awoke the next day, she was there checking in on me.Would I do it again. YES. Would I recommend Dr. Horton 1000x YES!!! She is a real woman who understands our bodies and sets real expectations. My journey has been a long and hard one. I am so proud to say I am on the other side now. Over the last 3-4 years her implants have really been causing a lot of pain, discomfort and possibly even some health issues. I had met other Dr’s before deciding, and none of the others had that same factor.Once I decided to move forward with my surgery, the office was sure I had all the information I needed. The pre-op appointment with Nurse Mary (who is also amazing) was very helpful to both me and my husband who would take care of me the next few weeks. And, at this point Dr Horton gives her patients her private cell number to call or text if you have any questions or concerns. We did use it 2 times, and both times she answered addressing our concerns and letting us know what to do next. Comment: I had a breast lift on my right side only and augmentation with Dr. Karen Horton 6 weeks ago. 10 years total of nursing left me with very deflated uneven breasts. My confident and self esteem suffered a lot because of this to the point where I couldn’t wear a tight shirt without an insert on one side to even them out. I Initiallu chose Karen because she has amazing before and after and because I appreciated her views on implants and being placed over the muscle. I was looking for a natural look and something that wouldn’t interfere with fitness. I live in lodi which is an hour and a half away, usually two or more because of traffic. Her prices were more but.. I wanted the very best surgeon! Travel, inconvenience and money did not matter to me because Karen is that good. She is responsive very friendly and seems to genuinely care. She puts her heart into her work, and I believe being passionate about a job like this is essential. During my pre op her nurse spent over an hour with me making sure I was comfortable and all my questions had been answered. Karen went over my “wish pics” in detail taking note of every aspect of each that I wanted to achieve and making me explain why I wanted certain attributes. She was tuned in with me and understanding of everything I desired. Made me feel very comfortable with something that can be embarrassing and intimate. On the day of my surgery she came and talked to me and was alert and friendly and smiling. Surgery day was one of the best days of my life! Go to sleep wake up and felt amazing! Minimal pain, her staff cared if I was prone to nausea or anxiety and addressed all my needs. Karen gives you her personal cell number and you can text or call her anytime and she always answers! Even small seemingly silly questions she answers quickly! So comforting to have that and I know lots of ladies who do not have that relationship with their surgeon. She had warned me I might look a little strange on my one side that had a lift compared to my other for the first 6 weeks or so and I was so pleasantly surprised that I loved them from day 1. Absolutely gorgoes cleavage right away! I look thinner and feel much more confident. It’s honestly amazing what having beautiful breasts can do for you! Also.. Karen did free lipo on my armpits! Comment: I can only say Dr Horton completely changed my life. I had numerous unsuccessful surgeries before finally meeting Dr Horton. I was a 2 time cancer survivor and the radiation from my initial diagnosis had caused substantial damage and made reconstruction very difficult. I had unsuccessful breast reconstruction after my bilateral mastectomy at UCSF. She patiently talked to me about options and gave me the bad news that my body would need to heal for a year from the ongoing infection I had from my surgeries with my prior doctor. She told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear. I had numerous stages to my reconstruction. Dr Horton and I talked about how there would be a number of steps needed, for my initial surgery with her I underwent a free flap surgery. She was with me every step of the way. She gave me her cell phone number and called me immediately if I texted or left a message. She was always there to assure me when I was concerned. I am sad to see the negative comments. I am confident that Dr Horton never told anyone that all they would need is one surgery. No doctor can guarantee results nor outcomes. Every person is different and their bodies respond differently. I had to have additional surgeries due to healing issues which had nothing to do with Dr Horton, it was my body responding and it was still struggling with the radiation after effects. I also had implants put in under the flaps in a secondary surgery due to issues with my breast bone. ( again my body issue, not Dr Horton) She gave me a makeover and I am so happy with the outcome. She was compassionate and understanding and truly wanted to do the best for me. Which she did. I would highly recommend her and her spa to anyone knowing only best services will be received. Comment: I went in to see Dr.Horton regarding my axillary area due to a long time insecurity regarding my baby fat in the crease of my arm pit. After having a child it only got worse. First meeting with Karen, she really took the time and energy into getting to know me and my body image issue. She was so genuine and showed legitimate interest in empowering me to love my body and having the freedom to elect modern ways to help reach my goals. I am almost 1 month healed from having liposuction on my axillary area and wow what a difference! I shop for clothes differently, I feel more confident in the things I wear and I really do feel different. I feel beautiful. I knew I was before going in for the procedure but now I feel unstoppable. Comment: I believe Dr. Horton has created a masterpiece from the ruins of my breast post 2 lumpectomies, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The pain from the surgical operations was intense and Im just in my 4th week post operation recovery, but realistically I am looking forward to the finished product and full recovery by next year this time. Dr. Horton is a classy lady and has a disarming bedside manner. She can be yanking out drains or stitches and speaking in a very chipper voice about what to look forward to next week; therefore, I wasnt as anxious while she was doing these things. I fought hard to get approval for Dr. Horton to do my surgery since she was out-of-network. I am glad that I did and feel I was in the very best hands for this very complicated surgery.

I had a terrific experience with Dr. Horton and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone for any reason that is related to cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. Her team is amazing. Comment: I experienced severe complications from treatments from my 2006 breast cancer. By 2013, my mammogram showed changes from the year prior. In working with a different medical center, there were four surgeries over the course of 2013-2014 . The damaged tissue resulted in squamous cell carcinoma on my chest wall which was removed, but the damaged tissue was still in place. I decided it was time for a second opinion. A friend told me about California Pacific Medical Center and I was fortunate to meet with Dr. Horton. From that first meeting I knew Id found the right doctor. Dr. Horton is extraordinary, caring, compassionate, and an extremely skilled surgeon. Dr. Horton and her team performed had a chest wall excision and reconstruction with a diep flap in June 2014. Dr. Horton was there for me in many ways at a very difficult time in my life. I feel like a new person and cant thank Dr. Horton enough.

Comment: Dr. Karen Horton is absolutely amazing. She was able repair and fix a very painful and unsightly breast reconstruction preformed by another surgeon using a DIEP Flap. My results are amazing and her and her office staff have been available every step of the way, including a cell phone number I was able to use if needed during off hours. Her bedside manner has to be the best I have encountered and she always makes you feel wonderful. I can not say enough about her surgical abilities, her office staff. The wait has always been very minimal. If you are in need of an amazing surgeon to preform a breast reconstruction, I personally have met and visited with dozens along the way. My recommendation is to use Dr. Karen Horton. A refreshing change from the typical surgeon! Thank you Dr. Horton. I love my results!

Dr.Horton has always made this experience a positive one and I appreciate that after a long year of breast cancer.
