Comment: My mom & I have been loyal customers for years. When we came to pick up many items, among them a high-quality coat bought from a luxury consignment store, the girl told us that they couldnt clean it because it came damaged at the lapels.This is 100% false:1) The luxury consignment store has standards for the clothes it receives & does not buy or resell damaged clothing2) It wasnt damaged when I purchased the item3) It wasnt damaged when I came home and tried it on for my mom4) I brought it to this dry cleaner right after purchasing.The girl then explained to me their process: first, the front desk worker inspects the items & takes them in; second, the person in the back takes the item & starts the dry-cleaning process. She told me that they dont clean or accept damaged items. Since that is their policy, I asked why the first person accepted the coat if it had already arrived at their store damaged. She had no answer for me, and thats when the older man began laughing at me.She began to contradict herself when telling me the 2nd person noticed the damage & couldnt clean it. I was still confused about how my coat was dropped off in mint condition & picked up uncleaned AND damaged. I offered her a hypothetical: What if between the first and second employees, the coat was damaged? That could potentially explain why it arrived in perfect condition, but was in poor condition as the cleaning process began.Once I asked that, the man came out from the back & started laughing, pointing in our faces, & yelling. He said I was blaming them for damaging the item & lying about it. He also said that because the item is thrifted, it is poor quality & already damaged. The girl then likened my situation to them “finding the customers’ keys in the pockets” (???). I repeated my question again, because my ONLY source of confusion still is: WHY was my coat was dropped off in mint condition, and returned in outright damaged condition? This is when their lack of professionality intensified.1. The girl blamed us for not picking the items up ASAP on the scheduled date (7/17). As I said, weve been customers for years, & never had an issue with late pick-up. If anything, since theyve had the damaged coat in their possession for such a long period of time, they had ample time to contact us re: the item & let us know that they cant clean it. Calling us ASAP when they discovered the issue = clearing themselves of ANY possible blame for the damage. It also would’ve showed us theyre professional and punctual.2. The older man (which the girl told with us is the owner) was verbally threatening, rather than de-escalating the situation. He yelled throughout our exchange, and b/c I had my service animal with me, I had to ask him multiple times to lower his voice. I asked him why he was laughing & yelling at me, and he gave no answer each time. As an asian woman, and with my mom speaking broken English, we can only presume that his racism prevented him from taking us seriously.3. The older man became physically threatening when I told him & the girl I wanted to end the argument and pay for the dry-cleaned items & be reimbursed for the damaged coat. While the girl initially agreed, the older man had other ideas. First, he came closer to us from the back of the counter all the way to shove his finger at my face and laugh at me. He crossed over to the other side of the counter and towered over me. He held the dry-cleaned clothes + the damaged coat in his hands, and forced it onto my body. He told me to take all the items and leave w/o paying. We were offended by that because we still want to support small businesses. I told them I did not need their charity; I can pay for the items and leave. He didnt listen, and continued to shove the clothes in my face, preventing me from being able to see anything in front of me. My mom ended up having to take the clothes because my vision was obstructed, and I was handling my service dog.

Comment: Arthur is the outstanding resident ambassador for Eco-Clean and the manager, Jack, ensures a continuum of excellent customer service. This is my second and well-deserved review of this storied cleaner of many years in the City of Pasadena. The longevity of the business is a reflection of the care, professionalism, eco-cleaning methodology for all fabrics with special care given to fine fabrics, as well as an in house tailor skilled at simple to the most intricate tailoring requests.The business has been valiantly continuing their customer service by staying open for all business hours honoring even expedited requests for cleaning. I have entrusted my silk covered goose down European comforter to this cleaner several times over, and this heirloom piece is returned to me in impeccable condition, with even the most stubborn spots gently removed without harm to the fabric. It is so important to always support local businesses but especially during this difficult time that we all share. Highly recommend!

Comment: I went there because it is close to my school, but I will never go back again . I gave them 2 shirts and told them where on the shirts need to be cleaned. When I picked up them, the stain is still there ! I asked why, the staff there said no why, I will clean it again for you . But he seemed angry at me! After two days I went to pick up it, the staff said it is clean . Yes the Collar is clean but there is still some minor stain there . They only cleaned the place I pointed out ! It is just a waste of money and time there!

Comment: One of the worst experiences Ive ever had. I came to pick up my suit and 3 shirts and each single shirt still had the same marks and stains on them. Its as if nothing had been done with my clothes. When I brought it to the owners attention he literally said he doesnt know what to say and eventually he said he didnt have time to talk to me. He then cursed me out and said leave his property when I brought up the fact that the appropriate thing to do would have been to apologize for not getting stains out or take the time to explain or give a discount. He told me to go get a lawyer. Totally unprofessional. I will be contesting the charges and never will go back.

Comment: My items were delayed two days.when I asked why they were not ready the older guy that works there gave me attitude.when I went to pick my items up i asked about the amount he charged because I noticed it was high compared to what someone said they were charged for even more items to be cleaned.he flipped out and started cursing at me and he called me a loser and said to get the F ! out of his store.he also followed me like a creep to the side walk.he also rudely took my license plate down which makes noSense since he was the one acting nuts. and it is none of his business to have my plate number.the jacket I had dry cleaned also does not smell clean.he literally had spit flying out of his mouth when he was yelling at me.bottom line is it was over priced the work was poor.the guy that works there is not stable.i actually called the police and they were going to go down there but I said not to,just to avoid more drama and more of my time wasted.i also read a previous review about them ruining someone elses hat and another piece of clothing not being cleaned properly.

Comment: I came to this dry cleaners as soon as they opened (around 2007?) because of the non-toxic methods they use. What a relief to know that awful chemicals arent touching our skin any more! Arthur and Mary are so welcoming and yet professional - they always greet me with enthusiasm (and when I need my French fix I speak French with Arthur). They go out of their way to give excellent service. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Loyal customer here!

Comment: Truly a gem! We have used Eco-Clean regularly for 3 years since moving to East Pasadena and have been very happy with the service. Art and Mary are always warm and inviting, and greet us by name. Their cleaning service is always excellent, and we rely on them for numerous garment repair and hem jobs. Best of all, they are very honest when something cant be cleaned or fixed. BONUS: Mary always gives our son a hug and a lollipop when we stop in.
