Comment: I Used to love this place. I started going right when they opened. I would go early morning, at 5. However every time I go the staff is doing laundry which causes them to take more than half the dryers. It gets very busy so it is very hard to get dryers and you have to wait. There are times where they will leave the clothes for a long time. 2 of the staff, Liliana and Ivonne can be very rude when asking for dryers, they act like they own the place. There are very few employees who are very sweet. They make me feel welcomed. It’s very clean but the lack of dryers makes me not want to go anymore.its very frustrating and overwhelming.

Comment: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.Let me preface that I have used Big Waves before and the experience has been positive. However, I recently took my clothing for fluff and fold as my personal washer was broken- I pre separated my clothing and dropped it off. Upon return almost all of my pieces washed had some sort of oily residue stains on them. I sent photos and they offered to rewatch and the manager let me know he didnt see stains on the clothing before so would definitely get those out.Upon receiving my clothes back for the second time none of the stains have come out. Nearly half of my wardrobe is ruined and after a week of being unresponsive they are offering me laundry credit and not to compensate me for even one piece of the hundreds of dollars worth of clothes that they ruined.Why would I want to come back? To wash the stains that wont come out from my clothes? I took my clothing here as I trusted it would be safe and now I am left with the majority of my wardrobe including items I wear regularly/to work ruined.I cannot afford to repurchase all of these pieces and many are not available at all anymore. I am devastated and so upset. Not to mention when I finally got ahold of someone they tried to claim the stains were on the clothes before hand? When a week prior they mentioned this was THEIR fault.I need SOME form of compensation for my clothing now. This is disgusting.Attached are just a few photos of a few of the spots of my ruined clothing. These stains are slovenly scattered across nearly every piece washed by big waves.

Comment: I’ve been to probably 10 different laundromats since moving to the LA area last year. This location is by far the best one I’ve been to. Friendly staff, clean and easy-to-use machines, and the parking lot is spacious compared to most other places. It might be slightly pricier than other laundromats but it’s totally worth it. At least here the machines won’t eat your money or randomly stop working mid-cycle.

The washing machines modern and clean. They washed quickly and off I went home to dry my clothes. I havent been to a laundromat for years. I will be returning.

I used the pick up and delivery service from Big Waves and everything was as mentioned. Very kind driver who picked the laundry up at the estimated time and 24 hours later brought back my lovely smelling fresh laundry! Would highly recommend their service.

Comment: First time coming and definitely plan on returning. All the reviews were spot on and helpful and pretty accurate. Key things to highlight is that this place is managed well and very clean! You can pay by app or with quarters very easily. Most machines are actually touch screen except for the single load top washers. There’s also Wi-Fi which is a plus and I would say they are on the higher end average for costs but extremely fair given you’ll get a clean wash and dry with these newer machines. Downsides? It was actually hard to find parking (and indoor seating as well as carts) - even on a Wednesday morning so maybe avoid busy times but I’m thinking there’s always a bustle here. The biggest downside was that the aisles are extremely narrow with very narrow tables for folding. Lots of bumping into others! If this place was a bit bigger with more parking I think it’d be the Alpha of all public laundry mats.

Comment: The Big Waves laundromats are fantastic; bright, clean, and modern! The machines are spotless, actually, clean your clothes, and are operated by this excellent speed queen app giving you options you always wished you could get your washer machine to do at home, let alone on a public machine. When I walked in, Abram was on a step stool with a huge welcoming smile on his face and told me hello and welcome in and advised me that it was 9 pm and they will close soon, and I promised to be done by 10 pm. Make sure to show up by 9 pm as they would like you to be done in at the most 1 hour, so show up on time, people! Oh, and they also have everything you need to do your dirty a$$ clothes, snacks, and a flat screen tv Monday night sports to boot. Five Stars ⭐️

A great addition to the Mar Vista and Santa Monica areas, check them out if you need to get laundry done. Good pricing, free parking. New machines!At Pacific and Grand in Mar Vista, as well as a larger location in Santa Monica is Big Waves Laundromat. Opened a month ago. Please disregard the previous reviews that are older.Plenty of free parking in a fenced off lot thats very safe. Plenty of places to back into with seclusion behind me, which I love. My laundry bag sometimes breaks open and I dont need everybody to see the inside of my SUV when Im trying to put it all back together. I can see that theres lights for night time that will make the parking lot very well lit and safe. Theres also a front entrance and street parking as well.This laundromat is sparkling clean every machine is brand new. They keep it very clean as well. There are a variety of speed Queen washers, see the pictures of the prices. Whats cool is you can use the Speed Queen app and pick a machine. Pay through the app and see how long the machine has left during the cycle. When you sign up the first time you get a $5 bonus so its like getting a load for free.There are lots of carts available to pick up and drop off your clothing to your car. Fighting for carts like a certain laundromat down the street.There are lots of machines of different sizes eight loads, six loads, four loads and top loaders.Prices are very fair for washing and the dryers dry incredibly fast. So the top dryers are 5 minutes for a quarter and the bottom dryers are 6 minutes for a quarter and Im guessing this is incentivizing people to use the bottom and spread out the love of the laundry dryers equally. I have towels that usually take about 36 minutes to dry theyre very heavy. They dried in 24 minutes or possibly less, they came out perfectly bone dry like perfect soft lovely towel no dampness. Thats really hard for me to get at a laundromat even at 36 minutes and 42 minutes.Using the new machines freaking Rock and theyre so damn shiny. That means drying would probably take most loads about a dollar to dry completely which is exceptional.I found out in the Speed Queen app that if you use the $5 for your wash but it costs $5.25, you can blend your payments. You first must put in the quarter or the money portion that youre going to be paying. Then you can pay the rest with the app. Thats a nice feature that have not seen the other laundromats. .Free Wi-Fi. Quite a few TVs all showing different family-friendly programming. The Muppet show was on when I was there and I loved it. The volume of the TV was not overbearing, you could hear it if you were nearby. But it didnt interrupt you from hearing the other TVs if youre near them. Good balance.Bathroom for customers. A sink to wash your hands or do rinsing off of your clothing with a decent sized counter next to it also available in laundry area. Vending machines for any of your washing supply needs as well as drinks. There is a coin/bill breaker and an ATM.CJ was working there today, he is the operations manager for Big Wave and was very helpful getting me oriented to the laundromat.The folding area by the dryers is quite narrow but there are two large tables on the other side of the laundromat that I have ample space for folding big items shirts etc. Theres lots of plugs and USB ports to plug in your devices while youre folding, which is very nice. Like I said everything was so damn clean it was lovely I didnt worry about having to wipe down the surface before I folded.Totally a good neighborhood spot to go to and Santa Monica, you have one as well. So check them out.

Comment: Great New Laundromat. Feel very safe at night, very well lit area. Huge homeless problem in the area so Im glad the lights stay on late. Im glad the homeless tents were removed i couldnt use the sidewalk at times. Employees are very eager to help and the fluff and fold is a great service. Some people say its pricey but if you want quality Im willing to pay a little extra.

Employees are wonderful, machines are state of the art, the place is always spotlessly clean, baskets are ample and can go outside which helps with unloading from the roomy and ample parking area. We run an Airbnb and their commercial bulk fluff and fold prices are reasonable and our guests really appreciate the professionally folded towels and linens. I love this place!

Machines are brand new and washed my clothes way better than expected. Huge parking area and good lighting for night time customers. It feels safe and there is an attendant always there. I signed up for the app and I was able to keep track of my machine the whole time. I’ll definitely be using this as my new place to wash my laundry.

Comment: I think this is a good place to wash if you do huge loads.there prices for the washing machine range from $9.25 - $3.00 and thats it you just want a typical wash. The dryers depending on the one you use range from a quarter giving you three to six minutes. There wasnt any where to sit and the surface to fold was very small. Overall it was okay but I dont think I would go back unless I were to wash big loads.
